Music for Minds

The Green Room Trust

Picture
Jessica is a strong believer in music's healing powers. She volunteers weekly for The Green Room Trust, a charity set up to create a safe space for teenagers to connect with one another through music.
Having had the privilege of growing up in a musical environment, Jessica believes music truly has the power to unite and heal. Jessica values the unique, irreplaceable relationships she has cultivated amongst fellow musicians, and wishes to help others share in this human experience. Jessica’s academic research at University confirmed the transformational effect of music: after evaluating music’s healing potential in a number of projects, she was keen to deliver musical workshops and performances within the community.
Jessica considers kindness, respect and humility to be essential as a musician. She hopes to alleviate suffering by removing mental and physical barriers through compassionate and expressive creativity. Jessica holds a place to study an MSc in Music Therapy in Edinburgh next year and aspires to facilitate holistic musical restoration.

Music for Memories

Volunteering with the Music Education Group has been a highlight of Jessica's time at University, and the Eboracum String Quartet enjoyed playing some old favourites for Lamel Beeches Care Home.
